Therapy as soulful as you are.
Psychospiritual therapy with Amy Sedgwick.
Some things can’t be talked away.
Have you tried to think your way out of grief, fear or a heavy heart, only to find it still waiting for you? You are not alone. Many of us carry wounds that live in the body and the spirit as much as the mind: trauma, profound loss, or patterns handed down through generations. Psychospiritual therapy makes room for all of it. Together, we look for the embodied and contemplative practices that help you feel steadier, more connected and more fully yourself. If this speaks to you, you’ve come to the right place.
Hi. My name is Amy.
I’m a Registered Occupational Therapist with over two decades of experience, including seven years supporting veterans with PTSD, grief and sleep disorders through Veterans Affairs Canada. My training has also taken me well beyond the clinic. I hold a graduate certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy, I’m a Veriditas-trained labyrinth facilitator, and I’m completing an MA in Theology and Culture with a focus on contemplative spiritual formation and Indigenous reconciliation. I bring all of this together to offer care that is grounded, embodied and deeply respectful of your spiritual path, whatever it may be.
Therapeutic
Approach
I begin my work with each client using the principles of Dynamic Emotional Integration®. Research shows that simply naming our emotions can help us feel more grounded and regulated. And our emotions are one of the most underused parts of the body’s intelligence system: each one carries information about what we need. Once you understand that language, we create a treatment plan together, shaped around you. Your plan considers the whole person, body, mind and spirit, and draws on whatever practices serve you best, from nature walks and dreamwork to ritual, prayer or creative expression. As an occupational therapist, I’m especially interested in what you do: the everyday activities, routines and rituals that bring you closer to your wholeness. Healing isn’t only something we talk about. It’s something we practise.
In-person and remote options
I primarily work virtually with clients across Canada. However, those who live in Antigonish County, Nova Scotia, are invited to have in-person appointments in their homes, at FireLoch Retreat Centre, or as “walk-and-talk” sessions at a nearby walking trail.
